Samhain

Turning in, moving into sacred space with our beloved dead, and solemnly enjoying each other’s company. Winternights is a windy, quiet, holy time of year. How fast the wheel turns, how much we need to slow down to reflect on the changes. Last night the Western New York clan celebrated our Samhain. The table was overflowing with food while laughter, surprise and light-hearted conversation filled our home. Downstairs we had a table set out for our dearly departed where friends could escape to connect with their loved ones. Deep into the night we sat, convening with Spirit and observing the season in the traditional way.
